Editing & Post

My priority as an experienced editor is to apply the attention to detail, creativity, sensitivity, and timing required to blend assets into cohesive visual content that really means something.  Work includes short form and long form edits; colour grading; sound mixing; visual effects; green screen keying and compositing; animated logo design; and custom soundtracks.


As an Adobe Creative Suite specialist, I produce all required visual effects work using After Effects. Eye-catching custom graphics are included in all videos as standard. Projects include compositing; dynamic text; rotoscoping, animations; virtual studios; titles and transitions.

Web, Design and Marketing

I am an experienced Wordpress web developer having produced large scale sites with ongoing maintenance and updated multimedia. My marketing services include copy writing, advertisement design, photography, graphic design and print work including bespoke artwork for leaflets, flyers, posters, and POS material.


With professional sound recording facilities, and access to extensive licensed assets, I produce creative audio for all productions including foley; audio enhancements; multitrack recording, voice-over and custom music production.

A freelance filmmaker, videographer and multimedia producer, I have led hundreds of creative short-form and long-form production projects for major charities, corporations, small businesses, and commercial and broadcast clients. I launched my company, Paul Carpenter Film and Media, formerly Alchemy Productions, in 2003, and my portfolio includes a broad range of production work including broadcast documentaries, corporate videography, content editing, photography, graphic design, WordPress website development, sound production, creative writing and copywriting.

Skills and Clients:

I am an Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) specialist with advanced skills in Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Audition and other apps. I own and operate a broad range of 4k / HD Canon professional equipment including multiple EOS Cinema cameras, Dedolight 4-point lighting kit, a gimbal, a drone, and professional sound recording equipment.

My previous clients include ITV, DesignScene London; Royal Opera House; Endemol Shine / Coca-Cola; London 2012 Olympics; National Geographic; Community Channel; London Sport/UK Sport; Thurrock Council, Total Jobs Group, The Music Man Project UK, Greater Essex Careers Hub, Creative Estuary and many more. I have also led multi-camera live and DVD shoots at the London Palladium, Barbican Concert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Palace Theatre, Old Trafford and Leeds Royal Armouries. I am a current member of Thurrock's Next Top Boss strategy board.


I have extensive experience working within specialist environments including disability and special educational needs (SEND), vintage and civil aviation. I have also delivered education production workshops for schools and colleges, including SEND students in secondary education. I became a freelance producer in 2003 following a ten-year career as a Senior Advertising Executive in the newspaper and magazine publishing industry. I also worked as a sports photographer and newspaper marketing and circulation executive.

I recently spent five consecutive summer seasons working as Ground Crew and Pilots' Assistant for several leading wing-walk, aerobatics and vintage aircraft operators. Briefing and harnessing passengers to the top wing of the aircraft, I was responsible for the safety of many public and VIP guests and celebrities participating in extreme aviation experiences in London, Essex, Kent, Lincolnshire and Dorset.

When I'm not producing media I enjoy a range of general interests including fitness, fiction writing, engineering and guitars. I have a lifelong passion for aviation and have custom-designed and built a full-scale flight simulator cockpit.
