Mencap Music School Documentary Nears Completion

With the new school term just underway, I am pleased to announce I am nearing completion of the much-anticipated documentary for Southend Mencap Music School.

Many lasting relationships are formed at music school

The film runs for a full hour and provides a fascinating insight into the wonderful work of David Stanley and his music school.

The school enables individuals with a learning disability to socialise, learn and express themselves through music.  After eleven successful years it is now poised to branch further afield with the launch of The Music Man, a regular provision in local schools and colleges.

The public release of the documentary, scheduled for this Autumn, is set to celebrate previous outstanding achievements and help carry that momentum into the school’s exciting new future.

The documentary provides fascinating insight into the lives of students and their families

On behalf of Mencap, I would like to say a very special thank you to Alexandra Turchyn for generously volunteering her voice-over services for the film.  Alex is a highly talented professional actress and her sincere, yet lively narration is just what we needed for this documentary.

Following our recent recording session in sunny Brighton, the script is now in place and our film is reaching the final days of post-production.  It was a pleasure to work with Alex, who is always the consummate professional.

Mencap are currently in the process of organising a public event to celebrate the release of the film and raise awareness for the school.  More details will follow as soon as they become available.

David Stanley entertains the class as I capture the action!
