It has been a great pleasure to be involved in Thurrock’s Next Top Boss again for the fifth consecutive year. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the council-led competition which continues to evolve in line with developments in technology, enabling students to submit their entries as digital media.
Schools and colleges taking part in the 6-month project are partnered with leading businesses and must respond to a business challenge set by them. This year, students have worked to deliver practical solutions to real-life business problems put forward by intu Lakeside, Youth Offending Service, Puttshack, Greenenergy, Mears Group, PDMS, Wates Group, Seeric, Riverside Community, Healthwatch Thurrock and HWWilsonLtd.
Having produced a series of video-making tutorial films available to schools, my current role in the project now involves managing multimedia submissions and facilitating the judging process.
Many fantastic media entries have now been received following close of this year’s submission window. We await announcement of the winning teams and students in the near future.
